Ryan Newman in serious condition after crash during last lap of Daytona 500 | USA TODAY

NASCAR driver Ryan Newman was listed in serious condition and is being treated at a Daytona Beach hospital after suffering a horrific crash at the Daytona 50.

The 62nd running of the Daytona 500 will mostly be remembered for the grizzly wreck involving Ryan Newman on the final lap. The frightening crash occurred when teammate Ryan Blaney nudged Newman’s No. 6 car ahead of Hamlin on the backstretch. But extra contact forced Newman to spin out, as his car flung violently into the wall and flipped into the air before being hit hard again by Corey LaJoie as he crossed the finish line. Newman’s car landed on its roof and skidding across the track.

  1. " Cause' they'll knock you down, they'll push you around, they'll shove you up against the wall, and you always know when that engine blows that a man can't win em all. You can push that car just a little too far any Sunday afternoon, and if you break your neck in some damned fool wreck they'll forget about you soon….

  2. The safe thing to do would be not to go outside… welcome to the weak think of the left. I'm sure those people think this man was racist… but have no idea how punnically funny that is.

  3. Not a fair Win! Take out the WINNER at all costs. That other driver must be held accountable under NASCAR rule… INTENT CAUSE. Interference …. not sure it's said that way… but it's there!

  4. I'm not a Nascar fan but watching the overhead footage, the driver behind him tailgated and clipped him. I do not know if that it part of the sport but at that kind of speed, isn't that a cheap shot? I get the concept of a "bump" but bumping a guy at 200mph, what do you expect is going to happen?

  5. Just think for a second the rationale of an individual who know's what this video is about and clicks on it just to dislike, Trump Derangement Syndrome is real people. Praying for him and his family and for all the people who disliked this video I pray that Jesus softens their angry heart.

  6. I thought his goose was cooked. Maybe he just got his bell rung. The boy in the 32 is lucky, too. Newman could have up and landed on the 32's screen there and that would have been real bad.

  7. My thought are with Ryan Newman — Nah. I don't give a rat's ass about any of these people. They decide to go around and around at high speeds. Didn't they realize something could happen? No, I have no thoughts, no pity and nothing with relation to these fucks. They are well paid and that is all that matters. If they crash and hurt themselves — Just too bad folks.

  8. Hope he will make it out of the but think he need to stop being in a car hoping that will put stop to this it going kill someone bad i do like see it so sorry to say this but men need to find something to do not to kill someone !!
